Fullhouse @ NiuZeXui

Talkabout a restaurant that looks like a cottage/bungalow in a commercial centre. This particular cafe cum store or rather categorized as a Lifestyle Store and Cafe, made a big impact to visitors visiting NZX.

You can't miss it. Its building is as white as snow and there is a blue mini cooper with a lady maniquin sitting on the boot. It has white picket fences with doves sitting on its green hedges.

I decided to have dinner at this authentic place. The menu is like a comic book describing characters similar to the Fullhouse: Korean Drama (with the same title).

Trying the western cuisine apart from its continental dishes. The choice was a foot long sausage with whipped potato. And Sek-Wok Chicken Chop. The Chicken chop was spicy with the black pepper sauce but with the added grapes, provides sweetening and sourish taste.

The foot long sausage, well... I couldn't tell if it was really a foot long since it comes cut into four(4) pieces. The sausage is a little salty, but I guess the idea was to go together with the nice whipped potato so that it taste just right when placed into the mouth.

For drinks, I called for a normal and another specialized colorful drink. First with the red twisted straw is the lime juice. And the other with green coloring was Calamansi with Apple Juice and Jelly.

Pasta de Gohan @ Sunway Pyramid

What do you call a restaurant mixed with Japanese cuisine and Italian cuisine? Its Pasta de Gohan!

Starters: Drinks. On the left is Vanilla Float (Clear sprite drink with vanilla ice-cream) and on the right is Hawaiian Float (Blue dye on sprite drink with vanilla ice-cream).

Tried the Prawn Spicy Carbonara (Its topped with a yolk and carbonara sauce). The prawns are fresh to perfection and still can't figure out that are those red minced straps.. My guess those are chilli sliced into strings.

We ordered 2 mini pizza. Its thin crust! So, you won't feel too full at the end of the meal. Overall? A place to go again in future to try out all the other exciting dishes. You can actually pre-order before even sitting down.. with all the dishes stuck on the wall and the shop/restaurant's wall... Just delicious by looking at them.

Ole Ole Bali @ SOHO, KL

Just found out that Ole-Ole means "Gift" in Balinese Language. Just as I walked into the Restaurant, its really like a gifted place filled with coziness and home warming feeling. The waitresses are helpful and there were 2 ways to dine. First was the old convention way that there is a table and chair. And the other is slightly unique, with a lower table and you sit on cushions on the floor. I choose that once I saw the piled pillows. I could just land myself on them and sleep.

Started with a Bali Lime drink. Its unique as it has a pandan leaf in the drink. Very nice taste indeed! For main course meal, we had a special nasi lemak set for 2 person. And I had another ordered, a chicken kebab spaghetti.

SOHO, KL.. too bad it was raining heavily that day. I believe its another destination for me to go there again as there were many other shops with good food to taste. Till next time! Cheerio!

Absolute Thai at Ikano Power Centre

I'm on a crispy spring roll hunt! And after laying off Beef for a long while, I earned my privilege to ... eat beef again! What better way, as recommended by the restaurant of Absolute Thai, its one of the chef's recommendation dish. Beef Noodle Soup. Oh ya, back to the crispy spring roll. Crispy and nice. The main flavor is actually the chilly sauce. Opps! I didn't get to shoot the sauce. Well, that's why you got to go and try it.

Anyway, the other dish is spicy chicken with a sunny side up on steamed rice. The chicken is so spicy that one mouth full of it.. made my ears watery! But if you like spicy, this is the food to go for.

Drinks to cool you down are watermelon and orange juice.

Little Vietnam at Midvalley, KL

This is my star wars night! Animated. Yup! I love star wars so much, I don't care if the show is cartoon based. Alright! Nuff about the star wars. More on food and where I'm heading this time is Midvalley. Well, been to Midvalley a lot of times. Introducing to you all a specialised country cuisine which you have tried it at other shopping malls. Today's Little Vietnam Restaurant.

For starters; Crispy Spring roll. I opted to try the fresh rice wrap over the crispy but my partner prefer crispy. Still delicious though. As refreshments, its Ice Lemon tea and Soda with Lime juice. The Soda with lime juice gives an exquisite taste. Refreshing!

Main course: Spaghetti with Siu Mai (look-alike meatballs). Parsley is a little too much. But still yummy. Next is Chicken Curry rice. Delicious as well. Only if it gives more curry sauce.

Fong Lye: Taiwan cuisine - Gardens Midvalley

What is the best way to feel like you're in Taiwan, but not having to be there? Not having to pay for airtickets, few hours of flight and booking of hotel? Just eat at Fong Lye's Taiwan cuisine at Gardens Midvalley. That's just what we did. Just before our booked tickets to GSC Signature Cinema for the movie The Mummy 3, we went down just 1 floor down and ate at Fong Lye.

Waiter and Waiteress will greet you in Taiwan "welcome". Seated comfortably on the mini table just fit for 2, seats are cushiony and with comfort. Didn't know what to choose but tried the 2 set dishes as they were marked as "very good" on the menu.

I ate the tomato fish sauce set and my wife ate the seafood mix set. Expect the seafood to be a bit pricy as the mini steamboat has not only prawns in it, but crab parts as well. If you are a tomato lover, then the sauce is yummy delicious. The set comprises of the a bowl of rice just nice, 3 side mini dishes - taufu, a spring roll, garnished cucumber. It comes with a soup as well. Mine was old cucumber soup.

Sushi Groove at 1Utama

After much tasting of sushi from Shogun, to sushi king, genki sushi, sakae sushi and hotel's sushi, comes my taste bud for sushi groove. Very cozy environment. Makes you just want to sleep on the comfy couch and doze off after a marathon walk around 1Utama shopping complex. However, the comfy couch is just a waiting area. The actual seating area, hmmm.. can't lean back. its a cushion stool with squary tables and green triangular plates and green chopsticks.

If you are a train belt fan, then sushi groove is NOT the place for you. Its more of a A-la-carte dishes selection menu. Pictures are nice to look at but navigating the menu needs some strategy.

What did we eat: Unagi sushi, tempura udon, extravaganza roll (8 x salmon and tuna sushi), hot and cold orcha tea.

Donald's All you can eat DURIAN!!! @ SS2

Durian season is here! You know, the thorny fruit with a smell that will knock you out! Kampong, D24, D101, D2, "chok keok", XO, Everthing, Double thumbs up! Best part is that its my first time eating on the spot!

Best part is to eat in a group of friends. We had our 1, 2, 3, 4.. umm possibly 5 or 6's durian. 8 people feasted on the wonderful fruit. Apart from the durians, the mangosteens are a hit!

Frog Porridge - Jalan Alor

Want to know where to eat the best frog porridge? Its here in Kuala Lumpur. Just 5 minutes walking distance from BBPlaza, in the heart of KL's shopping paradise. Jalan Alor. There is a long line of stalls and restaurants of good delicious food. Just take a look of the photos.. yummy... FYI: if you want to lose weight and at the same time enjoy a nice frog porridge, come here. The frog porridge will sweat you out!

By the way, this is Kung Po Frog porridge. Any difference? If you want the hot and spicy black sauce with lots of chili padi, then order kung po frog porridge. If you're not into hot and spicy stuff, just order the plain frog porridge. Its just as delicious, minus the spiciness.

The Apartment@Curve

Ever wonder how it feels to be eating a nice lunch in someone else's kitchen? That's where we were sitted at the Apartment. Its basically a nice furnished restaurant shape with household interiors. Makes everyone feel at home.

We had the apartment soup for starters. I had the lamb shank. The other is the roast duck. For refreshment is lemonade.

Cyberjaya: Kelab Komuniti

Lunch with company. Ordered set lunch. Nasi Lemak with choice of either ikan pari or chicken rendang (I chose ikan pari), a vege, watermelon and starfruit (desserts - fruits) and honey melon drink. All for RM9.90.

American Chilis at MidValley

When you're hungry, really hungry! What do you do? Go to American Chilis and order yourself a big nice main course fit for 2! Just after a movie in the morning and what a hot sunny day. Best to order a drink with a bottomless pit. Fresh apple and orange juice.

First starters. chicken soup. The thickness makes you want more. The main course, see for yourself. Final verdict? Yummy and nice cozy environment.

Disney in Hong Kong!

Staying in Hollywood Hotel - Disney Hong Kong is like being a super star celebrity! Minus the 200 plus other super star celebrities. Sunday was the day we went to Disney Hong Kong. The theme park is simply superb. Definately going to save more money to go to Hong Kong Disney again??? No way! Going to try out Disney in US or Japan! Ha! Gotcha...

We spent the whole day in the theme park. Taking photo with Goofy, Chip 'N Dale, Winnie the Pooh, Pluto, Prince Caspian, Disney Crew, Buzz Lightyear and Mickey! Well, almost. Mickey's Statue only. There is like an hour queue to Mickey and Minie's photoshoot. Learnt to draw Mickey's face too. Fun! Will post out the photo once I got it sorted out the 100+ photos we shot on our whole 5 days trip to Hong Kong.

Anyway, here is the food we had. Dinner. Lunch, err.. was so hungry we forgotten to photo shoot it. For lunch we only ate a Turkey drumstick and some bagels. For dinner, taa-da! The creamy is mushroom soup and the red brown is the minestrom soup. And the main course? Well, again... our appetite got over us. We ate till the end and only remembered we forgot to photo shoot it again.

Here is the nice night shot we were waiting for the grand finale where fireworks and musical effects will be showing over the Disney Castle.

Airplane food

Ta-Da! Airplan food. What a topic, eh? Well, this story comes from my trip to Hong Kong. What better way to travel to Hong Kong. Is to travel in its country's airlines. Cathay Pacific. Somehow, I notice most flights going out from Malaysia; the airplanes are with comfort. But flights returning to Malaysia; the airplane are less attractive and uncomfortable. Anyway, that's on another topic.

Airplane food. Now, I've no frequent traveller. But do hope in time to come; get to travel more. For work or holiday. As usual, up up and away! Started with peanuts and juice as snacks. Meal time, I chose Spicy Fish rice. Dessert comes with magnum like ice-cream. Yummy!
