New York, New York Deli @ 1Utama Shopping Complex

1Utama Shopping Complex Giant Supermarket is now taken over by Cold Storage Supermarket. And its area has widen to accommodate more shops and restaurants. One restaurant that caught my eye is right in front of Cold Storage Supermarket. Its a Singaporean Company franchise.

The food is delicious with western cuisine and drinks are unique. I tried the root beer float. Its refreshing only with a taste difference. I've discovered (now only discovered) that the unique special taste that A&W root beer float has with this here root beer float is actually the vanilla ice-cream! So, which is better? Definitely A&W's.

But I must compliment that when you are led to be seated, you don't have to wait for the waiter/waitress to bring you the menu. Its laid on the table and most of the recommended food/dishes are clearly highlighted.

I had this pizza which is for diet control. Being a cheese lover, its surprising that the cheese on this chicken Hawaii pizza is not cheesy at all!

The penne pasta.. well, what can I say.. I forgot to take the "before eaten" shot and only after "almost finish eaten" shot instead. Delicious! If only the prawns are fully peeled off.. that's a mouthful.. Yummy!

I'd recommend this to anyone that loves pizza and pasta. And its affordable as well.

New Paris Restaurant @ SS2

Those staying in SS2 for a long time should remember a budding new Chinese restaurant that's near the SS2 Yamaha music school that's delicious and restaurant/house hanging near the cliffs.

Well, its now called the New Paris Restaurant. Occupying the whole 2 unit of shop lots just near to the 7-11 convenient store.

The restaurant gets real pack especially during Chinese New Year where friends and families gathered to enjoy good food and lou-sang for good luck, good health and good wealth. I've been told that not only during Chinese New Year but almost everyday and especially the weekends, it gets packed with people simply because of the good food.

I got the privilege to eat here at the last days before Chinese New Year ends with my friends to lou-sang. Mind me, I can't translate Chinese to English that well but gonna try my best with the dishes.

My most fond memories for Paris Restaurant is their special compiled chili sauce mixed with fresh onion and lime juice.

Some of the dishes are the recommended dishes or highlighted dishes of the restaurant.

Chicken with watermelon balls

Fried Tofu with minced pork meat

Guinness Sauced Pork ribs

Spinach with garlic

Fried sotong

Oh yes, not forgetting... the food surprisingly arrive extremely fast! Once ordered, you don't have to wait very long even on a fully packed day! This is one of the many perks of New Paris Restaurant.

But mind you. Its NON-HALAL.

Lotus Grill Restaurant @ Clarke Quay

Its a great outing on the 1st day of Chinese New Year here in Singapore. After an entertaining lion dance, and river boat cruise around clarke quay, time to fill up my tummy as it nears dinner time. Lots of weird and interesting restaurants around Clarke Quay and very difficult to decide what to eat. Settled with something interesting. Eating in a river boat parked at the riverside of clarke quay. The name of the restaurant is Lotus Grill Restaurant.

Ravishing with hunger, skipped the entree course and headed straight for the main course meals. My first was the Grilled Pork Ribs with fries. Its coated with marinated barbeque sauces. Simply delicious. It has 7 ribs.. and I almost couldn't tuck in further after the 6th rib!

The second was grilled stingray ala asian dish with white fragrant rice. The stingray is topped with thai soury and spicy sauce. Sides includes acar. Very nice!

Instead of a usual drink, I ordered bacardi cola and shandy. But I wonder why for shandy, the restaurants like to just mix calsberg with sprite? Don't they have like real shandy? This shandy was a bit awkward as I tasted the bitterness of the beer at the top and the sweetness of sprite at the bottom.. not mixed properly to be called shandy!
